Harrison always knew a happily ever after wasn't in the cards. Growing up in a cottage stained red with violence and trauma, and then exploring his sexuality as a trans man, to the judgement of his village, his fairytale ending was never in sight and he tried to be okay with that. The only person around is Tal--a nymph disguised as a man, who listens to Harrison. Tal offers Harrison his dream: to be absolved of his crimes and to have the body he always dreamed of, and Harrison agrees. What he doesn't know is that agreeing means the forest can trap him within it's confines the longer he spends there. And the nymph with a secret past has trauma of his own that he can't be free of--until someone else takes his place, trapped in the trauma forest, reliving their own crimes every day. And despite the bargain destroying them both with Tal's insistence and Harrison's refusal, the two start to feel something other than the dark, heavy weight of pain for the first time in a long time.
